Training for today’s mission frontiers

Two hundred and fifty years ago a bold breed of Christians was unleashed on the wilderness of North America not unlike the twelve disciples Jesus sent out in Matthew 10. These traveling pastors, or “circuit riders,” who traveled on horseback from one small outpost to the next, had a shared mandate: to take the gospel to the remote corners of America’s frontier. No place was too far off the beaten path.

Inspired by their stories, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) launched the School of the Circuit Riders in the summer of 2011. Last year YWAM and IHOPKC partnered together to offer this training in Kansas City with hundreds being trained and sent out on the streets to encounter others with the love of Jesus. This year the school is being run again as a one-week residential program to cultivate leaders of courage, dedication, and initiative to awaken the people of the world to the power of the gospel.
