[God] . . . gave some to be . . . evangelists.” Ephesians 4:11
God is drawing evangelists and those who long to be witnesses for Jesus to the International House of Prayer. We are dedicated to nurturing, training, and sending these men and women into the harvest field, locally and to the nations of the world. Our strategies include:
- Creating a “greenhouse” for aspiring evangelists
- Participating in the Kansas City Evangelist Fellowship
- In-depth Bible classes taught by evangelists and Bible teachers
- Mentoring relationships and rich fellowship with seasoned evangelists
- Participation in the prayer and fasting lifestyle of the International House of Prayer
- Multiple outreach opportunities every week
There is a place that understands that evangelists are different
Often evangelists do not feel understood or appreciated in their local church. We intend to surround you with fellow evangelists. Your heart for the lost will not go unappreciated. Together, we will grow in Christ and hone our skills as evangelists.
Our speakers are evangelists
Bible colleges often have non-evangelists instructing about evangelism. Instructors in the Forerunner Evangelism department at the International House of Prayer are seasoned evangelists whose calling, anointing, and experiences in evangelism impact the student. According to Ephesians 4, instruction about evangelism is reserved for evangelists. Likewise, Genesis 1 illustrates the principle that “like begets like.”
We will teach you about prayer and fasting
Intercession and fasting are missing components in the training and lifestyle of most Christians in America, and it is no different for most evangelists. We challenge this non-biblical model. If you have a vision to intercede for lost souls, then this is a place you should consider. Like the apostles of old, and by the grace of God, we choose to “ give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4).
