Can Evangelical believers fellowship with other Christian traditions such as Catholic, Orthodox, Eastern and Coptic?
복음주의 교회 신도들이 카톨릭, 동방 정교회, 동방 교회 나 콥트 교회와 같은 다른 크리스천 전통 교회들과 교제할 수 있을까?

Several IHOPKC leaders recently participated in an event hosted by United in Christ called Kairos 17. IHOPKC helped the United in Christ team by letting them use IHOPKC’s building. The purpose of this event was to mark the 500thanniversary of the Reformation and the 40th anniversary of the Kansas City Charismatic Conference with a summit of different leaders from different traditions and denominations in the Body of Christ.
최근에 몇 명의 아이합 켄사스 시티 리더들이 ‘그리스도 안에서의 연합 (United in Christ)’ 에서 주최하는 ‘카이로스 17’ 집회에 참석했습니다. 아이합 켄사스 시티는 아이합의 건물을 사용하도록 함으로써 ‘그리스도 안에서의 연합’ 팀을 도왔습니다. 이 모임의 목적은 다른 전통과 교단으로부터 온 다른 리더들의 회담과 함께 종교개혁 500주년과 켄사스 시티에서 있었던 카리스마적 컨퍼런스의 40주년을 표하기 위한 것이었습니다.

The glorious destiny of the Bride of Christ is a sign and wonder; that the mature and unified Church would be presented to Jesus “not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Eph. 5:27) is certainly something to marvel at when you consider that the history of the church is oftentimes a history of broken men and women with wrong ideas about each other and more importantly about God. Yet we believe that the high priestly prayer of Jesus in John 17 that the church would be perfect in unity will come to pass before the return of Jesus.
그리스도의 신부의 영광스러운 숙명은 징조이고 경이로움인데 즉, 성숙하고 연합된 교회가 예수님 앞에 서게 되는 것입니다. “티나 주름 잡힌 것이나 이런 것들이 없이 거룩하고 흠이 없게 하려 하심이라” (엡 5:27). 이러한 신부의 모습은 교회 역사가 흔히 서로에 대한, 더 중요하게는 하나님에 대한 잘못된 생각들로 깨어진 사람들의 역사였음을 생각할 때 확실히 놀랄만한 일입니다. 그럼에도 우리는 예수님의 재림 전에 교회가 완전한 연합을 이루게 되도록 요한복음 17장에서 기도하신 예수님의 제사장적 기도를 믿고 있습니다.

While the history of all church traditions is a history of schisms and divisions, we still believe that there are born again believers in Jesus in widely diverse traditions such as the Eastern Church, the Orthodox Church, the Coptic Church and the Catholic Church. We value the friendship and fellowship of all born again believers that love Jesus, seek to obey his leadership, honor the Bible as authoritative in matters of faith and ethics and value the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the fellowship of believers.
모든 교회 전통의 역사가 분립과 분열의 역사 가운데에 있지만, 우리는 여전히 동방 교회, 동방 정교회, 콥트 교회와 카톨릭 교회와 같은 폭넓고 다양한 전통 교회들 가운데 예수님 안에서 거듭난 믿는 자들이 있다는 것을 믿습니다. 우리는 예수님을 사랑하고 그분의 리더십에 순종하려 하며 성경을 믿음과 가치 체계의 권위로 인정하고 다른 믿는 자들과 교제하며 성령님의 사역을 가치있게 여기는 모든 거듭난 믿는 자들과의 우정과 교제를 귀히 여깁니다.

In embracing believers from different traditions we want to emphasize that in doing so we are not embracing or endorsing the religious institutions and authority structures of any of these traditions or denominations. We recognize that in many of these traditions doctrines and practices have been promoted which we would firmly reject as unbiblical such as prayer to the saints etc. In fellowshipping with believers from different Christian traditions we are not ignoring these doctrinal differences, but we do recognize that unity of the faith is not necessarily unity of doctrine. While at the same time we celebrate statements such as the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification between Lutherans and Catholics and Pope Francis’ affirming statements of Martin Luther’s reforms concerning justification by faith which was the initial impetus for the Reformation 500 years ago.
다른 전통 교회들의 믿는 자들을 받아들일 때, 우리는 종교 기관이나 이러한 전통 교회와 교파들의 어떤 권위 체계를 받아들이거나 지지하는 것은 아니라는 것을 강조하고 싶습니다. 우리는 이러한 많은 전통적 교리와 관습이 우리가 확고히 비 성경적이라고 거절하는 것, 예를 들면 성자들에게 기도하는 것 등등을 격려해왔던 것을 인정합니다. 다른 크리스천 전통 교회의 믿는 자들과 교제 할 때, 우리는 이러한 다른 교리들을 간과하지 않습니다. 그러나, 우리는 또한 믿음의 연합이 반드시 교리의 연합은 아니라는 것을 인정합니다. 우리는 이와 동시에 루터 교회와 카톨릭 교도들 간의 ‘칭의 교리에 대한 공동 선언문’ (Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification) 의 성명과, 500년 전 종교 개혁 시작의 자극이 되었던 마틴 루터의 믿음으로 의롭다 함을 받는 개혁에 대한 프란치스코 교황의 ‘확증 성명서’ (affirming statements) 를 함께 기뻐합니다.
