Derek Loux’s last release, Paper Religion, displays honest lyrics communicating a sense of longing for the presence of God and abandonment to Him.
Fragrant Burning is the culmination of three years of singing scriptures in the house of prayer.
Derek Loux was a worship leader and part of the senior leadership team at the International House of Prayer. He was both the director of Forerunner Music Academy and an instructor at the Forerunner School of Ministry. Derek was skilled in equipping worship teams, training prophetic singers and musicians, and helped to lay a theological foundation for worship and prayer ministry. God’s relentless grace carried Derek and his wife, Renée, through many difficult times, resulting in forming a message of hope for those who suffer.
Derek and Renée carried a deep conviction regarding the spirit of adoption and ministry to the poor, which is articulated in Isaiah 58. Together they founded the Orphan Justice Center, which is affiliated to the International House of Prayer and run by Renée.
In December of 2009 Derek went home to be with the Lord, and is survived by Renée and their ten children, eight of whom are adopted orphans. Derek’s vision of justice and compassion for orphans continues to grow at the International House of Prayer and elsewhere.
