Encountering Jesus in the Night
Imagine the saving and transforming power of Jesus breaking into homes as we pray in the night. Imagine nightmares in cities across the nations turned into prophetic dreams of Jesus and His gospel (Psalm 19:2).

Spiritual pressures and sociopolitical uncertainties are mounting. The last several years have presented many global challenges, whether it be the sanctity of marriage, an increase in rumors of wars, the rise of anti-Semitism, or confusion over the gospel and many believers drawing back from its truth.

The Body of Christ in the Western world is in a state of spiritual emergency. Yet the fields are white for the harvest; the Church will be victorious, and a powerful historic breakthrough of the Spirit is coming to the nations (Matthew 24:14).

Part of Jesus’ divine strategy is to raise up a global worship and prayer movement in the Church, with various expressions of 24/7 prayer in the nations (Isaiah 62:6).

An essential part of these 24/7 prayer centers is the night watch, with dedicated singers, musicians, and intercessors ministering to the Lord in the night as a lifestyle.

The Holy Spirit is moving across the earth setting worshiping intercessors in the night watch who behold and bless the Lord.

The Night Belongs to the Lord

Behold, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who by night stand in the house of the Lord! (Psalm 134:1)

Communities will rise in the watches of the night across the nations to worship and cry out for a breakthrough of God’s love and power—for salvation, deliverance, God’s mercy, and for societal transformation.

Imagine the saving and transforming power of Jesus breaking into homes as we pray in the night. Imagine nightmares in cities across the nations turned into prophetic dreams of Jesus and His gospel (Psalm 19:2). Many are tormented in their sleep; they lie awake, in despair and chronic pain. The watches of the night serve to change the spiritual atmosphere in the night.

Jesus is setting singers, musicians, and worshiping intercessors on the wall, who will minister before Him day and night. Our NightWatch is an inevitable reality that will one day cover the whole earth. It is a global midnight cry declaring the coming Bridegroom King in the nations (Matthew 25:6). Like a night-blooming cereus flower in the desert, it prophesies that in the darkest night of the nations, the Church will flourish, shining purely and brightly as a witness to the worth of Jesus (Song 2:1).

Jesus is worthy of loving meditation in the watches of the night (Isaiah 26:9), and He desires to visit people in every nation with the fire of His presence (Isaiah 4:6).

In order for there to be night-and-day prayer, there must be prayer at night. Fire in the Night is the IHOPKC internship structured around the Nightwatch, the hours of the prayer room from midnight to 6am. Consider joining us for a three- or six-month internship in Kansas City. Learn more »
