While biblically-sound teaching and corporate worship draws many, we offer something specific for everyone.

Is Onething Just for Young Adults?

by IHOPKC
10/2/15 Onething

Every year in December, tens of thousands of young adults descend on downtown Kansas City, Missouri to attend our annual Onething conference. In the course of four days (Dec. 28–31), attendees divide their time between the prayer room set up specifically for the conference, corporate worship sessions, times of healing and prophetic ministry, and biblically-based teachings from IHOPKC leaders and well-known Christian teachers from around the world.

Although intersections are constantly filled with teens and college students battling freezing temperatures on their way to Bartle Hall, this event is not just for young people.

Our Onething conference brings many people of all ages and stages of life to Kansas City for times of refreshing and refueling. Parents, kids, stay-at-home moms, adults in the marketplace, college students, youth groups, and many others arrive seeking a time of encounter with God that is free from distractions.

Although Onething is geared toward equipping young people to live with passion for Jesus, they aren’t the only ones who can benefit from the conference. This event takes into account the diverse backgrounds and needs of its various attendees. While biblically-sound teaching and corporate worship draws many, we offer something specific for everyone.

For parents with children who are five- to twelve-years-old, the Children Equipping Center (CEC) is designed to reinforce the biblical foundation that parents are laying for their children to love Jesus. The CEC curriculum helps encourage, teach, and equip children to become devoted disciples of Jesus, so they can enjoy fellowship with the living God. We focus on the biblical values of prayer and the Word of God.

Even parents with younger children can attend Onething. Moms with nursing babies will find designated areas of privacy for feeding times, allowing them to fully participate in the conference.

International attendees who need language interpretation can select the service for an additional fee when they register. Languages include Korean, Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese, among others. Sessions are interpreted by native speakers. There will also be opportunities for these attendees to learn more about IHOPKC’s international ministries, which help strengthen international communities in prayer and devotion to Jesus.

Adults who are working in the marketplace or close to retirement can also find a time of refreshing through the worship and teachings offered at Onething. Additionally, at the afternoon breakout sessions, attendees can learn more about different programs at IHOPKC, such as Immerse, our week-long training program, and Bible courses during the summer. There will also be a session about our internships for those who would like to spend a focused season growing in prayer and the Word.

The Onething conference aims to encourage and equip people to be disciples and lovers of Jesus who are committed to the Great Commission. Even those who don’t feel called to a life of ministry or who aren’t quite in their teenage years anymore will be able to take away much from this conference. We invite you to lay aside distraction and encounter God with us at Onething this December. Registration prices vary and the deadline for our Super Early Bird pricing is September 30. Come join us!
