Non-Credit Music Courses

Forerunner Music Academy music courses are skill-based and require full participation. Enrolled non-credit students will receive the same one-on-one attention as FMA students do. All students will be expected to practice and have the opportunity to lead worship, complete assignments, and be evaluated through tests and quizzes.

They do not receive credit for the course, but they are graded, and, unless they pass the course, they are not eligible to progress to the next level if they are interested in doing so.

If you are interested in any of the courses available, please email fma@ihopu.org in order to set up an assessment appointment. Upon completing an assessment, you will be able to enroll for a course. Course times are available from FMA upon request.

Sign up for a non-credit music course

  1. View the music courses available for non-credit on the IHOPU Fall 2019 Non-Credit Music Course List.
  2. Download a Non-Credit Music Enrollment Form or pick one up at the following locations:
    • The IHOPKC Business office (3535 E. Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64137)
    • Forerunner Christian Fellowship Welcome Center
    • IHOPU Front Desk Welcome Center (12901 S. US Hwy 71, Grandview, MO 64030)
    • IHOPU Registrar’s office located in the administrative offices at the IHOPU campus (Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm, (816) 763-0243 x.3301).
  1. Email fma@ihopu.org to request an assessment appointment. At the assessment, the FMA administrator will sign your form.
  2. Bring completed form to the IHOPKC Business office to pay for the course (FMA administrator signature required).
  3. Bring form and receipt of payment to the IHOPU Registrar located in the administrative offices.
  4. The Registrar’s office will enroll you in the music course and supply you with an enrollment voucher. You will need to present this voucher to the course instructor or assistant for admittance to the course.

Non-credit music course cost

Music courses are $600 per course. IHOPKC staff and IHOPU students receive the following discounts:

  • Full-time IHOPKC staff may enroll in two courses per semester at $300 each. Additional courses cost $600.
  • Part-time IHOPKC staff may enroll in one course per semester at $300. Additional courses cost $600.
  • Full-time IHOPU faculty and administrative staff may enroll in two courses per semester at $300 each. Additional courses cost $600.
  • Part-time IHOPU faculty and administrative staff may enroll in one course per semester at $300. Additional courses cost $600.
  • IHOPU students who wish to enroll pay $600 per course.
  • YWAM staff may enroll in two courses per semester at $300 each. Additional courses cost $600.

Refund policy for non-credit music course

Refund Amount if the Non-Credit Music Student Withdraws from Class(es):

  • During the first 2 days of classes: 100%
  • During the first week of classes: 90%
  • During the second week of classes: 70%
  • During the third week of classes: 50%
  • After the third week of classes: 0%

If you are unable to continue auditing a non-credit music course, please do the following to receive a refund (based on the timeline above):

  1. Complete a Refund Request form with the Financial Services Dept. located in the IHOPU Admin Offices.
  2. This form will be sent to the Accounting Dept. and the refund will be processed in the format you paid (by card, amount will be credited back on your card; by cash/check in person, you will be mailed a check).
