Health Insurance IHOPU requires that all international students purchase health insurance for the duration of their time at IHOPU. As an international student, you have two options for health insurance coverage. Enroll in the Compass Silver plan through IHOPU’s agreement with ISO, an international student health insurance company, or Purchase a policy on your own through a different provider. If you choose to purchase your own policy, please be sure it meets the requirements below. Once you are accepted to your program, International Services will email you with more information about purchasing health insurance coverage. Deductible: $100 Medical evaluation: $60,000 Repatriation: $50,000 Vision and dental are not covered Pre-existing conditions covered after six months of continuous enrollment You can sign up for an ISO plan by emailing email@example.com as soon as you are notified of your acceptance. Coverage through ISO is purchased one semester (four months) or one internship track (usually three months) at a time. The coverage will begin the first day of class of that semester/track. Learn more about the Compass Silver plan » Choosing a Non-ISO Plan Insurance Requirements IN order to purchase your own health insurance coverage during your time at IHOPU, you will need to submit proof of the policy you have purchased. Your proof of insurance must include the following information: Your name The length of coverage (specifically: the date it begins and ends) Policy details, including medical evacuation and repatriation of remains Statement that the plan covers you “worldwide” or “while in the United States of America” Canadian students: If you are considering using your Canadian health insurance during your time at IHOPU, please be sure that the coverages above are included in your policy. If they are, please send a copy of your policy or letter from your insurance agent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The policy or letter must include all of the required information (above).
