About This Album
Forerunner Music is excited to announce the release of the latest Pablo Pérez CD, Return. Many people will already be familiar with Pablo and his God-saturated worship songs and soaring style of worship leading. While Pablo is not new to the worship music scene, Return is the first album that he has undertaken with Forerunner Music.
Listeners will recognize musical similarities with Cece Winans, Josh Groban, and Andrea Bocelli, and will also appreciate the Latin flavor Pablo brings to some of the tracks. Although there is a great soundtrack feel to Return, Pablo is still keen to emphasize the origin of the message he brings through the music. “I have been greatly impacted by the teaching of Mike Bickle and others at IHOPKC, as well as by the teaching of classics like C.S. Lewis and St. John of the Cross. I hope some of their inspiration comes through in the music.”
Originally from Argentina, Pablo and his wife Andrea spent seven years as missionaries in Mexico, involved in pastoring a church and leading worship at several stadium crusades. Since April 2001, Pablo and Andrea have been intercessory missionaries at the IHOP Missions Base of Kansas City, where Pablo can often be found leading worship.
One of the many highlights of the album is that Pablo showcases a number of IHOP singers and worship leaders, and seems to find just the right song for each guest vocalist. The powerful “Bridegroom, King, and Judge” features Misty Edwards. “My God is King,” which introduces the beautiful voice of Laura Hackett and features the widely-loved violinist Ruth Fazal, is a standout track destined to be a classic. Other phenomenal duets include “God of Hope,” featuring Carol Hall, who has just released some of her songs with Forerunner Music’s first two children’s albums, “Prayer” and “Praise,” and the soulful tones of Nayomi Greaves on “Take Me Away.”
Other standout tracks are the title cut, “Return,” where the instrumentation would not be out of place on a movie score, and the uplifting “Gloria Sea al Justo,” in which the worship rises in Pablo’s native tongue.
Return is unique, for while this genre of music is widely listened to, there are very few artists who are currently using it for the glory of God. Pablo’s Scripture-soaked lyrics will refresh and inspire you, and the soaring melodies will stir your heart in worship.
