International House of Prayer gathers 20,000 in KC for Prayer and Missions Conference

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City based International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) will today welcome up to 20,000 young adults to the KC Convention Center. The event will last from 28th and culminate with the attendees welcoming in the New Year on Dec 31st.

This year will mark fourteen years this annual convocation of Christians known as the “Onething Conference” has taken place in Kansas City. Over the years several significant political leaders from the region have welcomed the worshippers to Kansas City from the event’s stage noting the positive economic impact the conference had over the holiday season. This year Grandview Mayor Leonard Jones will welcome the worshippers.

The event is known for its times of passionate worship and Christian teaching. In 2014 several notable guests are welcome to the event’s stage including international evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and worship leaders Kari Jobe and Phil Wickham. Teaching from IHOPKC’s Director, Mike Bickle in addition to other equipping tracks will call the worshippers to a deeper life of prayer and Christian discipleship.

Mike Bickle is passionate about the impact that this event can have on the lives of many of the attendees. He commented “Jesus is not coming back to a prayerless, powerless, and passionless Church, but to a people walking in deep partnership with Him in worship and intercession for the release of the harvest and the establishing of justice in the nations. This is the message and heartbeat behind why we keep doing this event in downtown KC.”

About the International House of Prayer:

The International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) is an evangelical missions organization based in Kansas City and Grandview, Missouri. Since September 19 1999 IHOPKC has established and maintained a 24/7 prayer room, a perpetual solemn assembly which combines worship in the form of music and singing with different types of prayer. This prayer room is then broadcast live over the internet to the nations of the earth. The vision of the International House of Prayer is to work with the Body of Christ to serve the Great Commission, seeking biblical prayer for the harvest with music from a place of wholehearted love for God to be established in every tribe and tongue on the earth. The work of IHOPKC includes equipping through its university and many training programs and sending out missionaries as dedicated intercessors and evangelists who work to see revival within the Church and a harvest among those searching for God.
