5 Million Christians Unite in 21 days of Prayer and Fasting for Jerusalem (May 7-28)

Galilee, Israel, May 4, 2023:

It is estimated that over 5 million Christians will unite in 21 days of prayer and fasting for Israel and Jerusalem (May 7-28).

Thousands of ministries and church networks from around the world, representing well over five million Christian believers, have set their hearts to pray for a minimum of
1 hour a day for 21 days (May 7-28) for God’s blessing on and peace in Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6) This prayer initiative is called “The Isaiah 62 Fast.” This website – isaiah62fast.com provides the background to this historic 21-day global prayer initiative.

The information for this prayer initiative has been translated into over 100 languages and identifies over 1,000 ministries from many nations who will function as ‘Prayer Hubs’ that will mobilize people in their region of the world to pray for Israel for these 21 days.

Church and ministry leaders from a cross-section of the body of Christ, including Lou Engle, Jason Hubbard, and Mike Bickle, representing several thousand ministries from many different Protestant denominations, along with Christians from many different traditions including Catholic, Coptic, Orthodox, and more, will be collaborating in 21-days of prayer and fasting for Israel. The call was originally given on March 7, 2023, by Mike Bickle, the founder of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOPKC), whose people have sustained 24/7 prayer with worship since 1999. This historic fast will culminate on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, when 100 Million intercessors from around the world will pray for Israel as part of the Global Prayer Day for Israel which will be supported by over 5000 Prayer Networks. Mike Bickle says: “In speaking to thousands of church leaders and ministry networks from many nations over the past eight weeks, I have been totally surprised how quickly people of different backgrounds are uniting behind this prayer initiative for Israel. The scriptural inspiration for this is the prophetic promise spoken by Isaiah (paraphrased): “O Jerusalem, the Lord has appointed those who will pray for you…they will never keep silent until the Lord makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth” (Isaiah. 62:6-7).This will be the first time in history that millions of Gentile believers will pray for 21-days for God’s blessing on and peace for Jerusalem.”

On May 28, 2023, Pentecost Sunday, there will be a Global Day of Prayer for Jerusalem and the Nations (www.pentecost2023.org) with a 24-hour global broadcast from many different locations around the world, including a number of broadcasts direct from Jerusalem.
