Four Ways to Use the Webstream

by IHOPKC
6/3/16 Christian Living

For almost 17 years now, we have engaged in continuous prayer and worship at the International House of Prayer of Kansas City (IHOPKC). We hope it has been an earthly depiction of what happens continuously around God’s throne–unceasing praise and adoration of the one, true, living God.

In an environment of night-and-day worship, we pray for the nations, leaders, the church, and the Lord’s will to be done on the earth as it is in Heaven. Every set and every prayer is streamed online to the world over the internet. We stream 24/7 worship and prayer online at no charge to spread the saving message of Jesus, our Bridegroom, King, and Judge.

Throughout an average year, the webstream is accessed by hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. And whether you’re someone who appreciates worship music who is based in the United States or someone with a passion for prayer living in a rural community world-wide, we keep our free webstream continuously available through the faithful commitment of our financial partners.

We also maintain archives of each set so you can go back and listen to every single prayer and every single song. Whether there was a certain prayer that the Lord used to strengthen you or a song He used to encourage you, the sets are saved and made searchable on the website once you create an account and log in. Any hour of the day, you can return to a set you’ve heard before, or one you may have missed, and hear life-giving truths sung and prayed back to our Heavenly Father.

Here are just a few ideas for using our webstream to strengthen your inner man–your mind, will, and emotions–on a daily basis.

1. Your Lunch Break (Stressful Moments in Your Day)

Sometimes you just need to take a few minutes in your day to turn your attention back to the things that really matter. Because we all have moments in our day when we we’re tempted to feel overwhelmed by demands and the hectic pace of life, it’s good to be able to turn our minds to the eternal truths of God’s goodness. He is a good Father who knows and takes care of His children. In those moments of chaos and the magnification of momentary, light afflictions, the webstream is there. Worship that speaks of who the Lord is, His character and nature are consistently offered every second of every day in our prayer room. In the moments when your attention is being drawn away from God, you can use your lunch break or other breaks in your day to listen to truth and refocus your perspective on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

2. The Start of Your Work Week

Every Monday at 6 in the morning, we start the prayer meeting with worship and prayer for our sisters and brothers in the workplace. We ask the Lord to strengthen believers in the marketplace and give them favor and grace to exemplify Jesus to coworkers and clients. We know that our lives are testimonies of God’s goodness. We desire that every follower of Christ have the grace to persevere in times of trial and to be a blessing to those around them in their work environment. Access the webstream to hear what we’re praying for you and be strengthened and encouraged as you start your work week.

3. Small/Personal Prayer Meetings

Not everyone has access to a group of people who are highly-trained musicians and to singers who have studied the Bible for years. Our worship leaders, musicians, and singers have trained and become skillful on their instruments. They have studied and meditated upon the Word while sitting in the prayer room for hours at a time conversing with God about His heart and Word. When you’re not sure how to start a prayer meeting, the webstream is available to complement your time of corporate prayer and worship. With the devotional sets led by a single worship leader, there is, in addition, ample opportunity to study and meditate on the Word as you listen to the Word being placed to music and sung.

4. When You’re Anxious and Can’t Sleep

There’s a lot going on in the world around us that is perfect for producing anxiety in the human heart. Add to that the personal challenges of everyday life and it’s not surprising that many people are concerned about the future, finding themselves awake at night, pondering what is to come.  At those moments when you’re tossing and turning or staring at the ceiling, as worry and anxiety try to overcome you, the webstream is available. You can hear truth being sung that will combat fear, anxiety, worry, and the attacks of the enemy. Even in the middle of the night you can hear singers proclaiming the truth of your appointed destiny in Christ as an overcomer who will live forever with Him with joy and delight.
